Running is the constant, and most of it is unremarkable — an hour before work, the same few loops, in whatever weather Zurich has decided on. I am not chasing a PR pace; the only place I care about going fast is on a snowboard. Everywhere else distance is king. That is rather the point: the interesting number is never any single outing, it is what a decade of mostly ordinary ones adds up to. Which is also the thing you cannot feel and can only measure — unremarkable is invisible until something has been quietly counting it for ten years.
That counting is done by an unreasonable number of small devices.

Three COROS watches, a Fitbit, a COROS arm strap, a Garmin chest strap, and the Shokz that make the dull loops bearable.
The rest of it fills in around the running. Hiking when the days are long enough to get properly high, the bike when a route is too far to run, cross-country skiing once there is snow, and a handful of snowboard days that are less about training than about being on a mountain. Swimming happens rarely and reluctantly.
Everything ends up in Strava. The totals below are built from a Strava data export rather than its API, so they are only as fresh as the last archive I bothered to request.
